He nodded, said he would see us later, and went on his way.
We assured Antonio: We were thoroughly enjoying ourselves. We were huffing up the gravelly path, feeling as though we had been dropped into a Perugino landscape, surrounded by olive trees, sun-bleached fields, and a carpet of green tobacco plants nestled below in the Niccone valley below, a slip of land where Tuscany meets Umbria. My husband and I had arrived, a few hours earlier, at Reschio, the 3,700-acre property home to several dozen renovated villas and a millennium-old castle that, as of May, has been converted into a hotel: Castello di Reschio. “Are you enjoying your walk? I’m Antonio, the owner here.” “Good evening,” he said as he rolled to a stop. My husband & I cannot wait to come back and visit the winery & will surely be using it ourselves in the future to host events. The vintage VW beetle came rolling over the hill, driven by a trim man in a three-piece suit and a straw hat. I will 100% recommend this venue to anyone who is ever looking for a baby or bridal shower, wedding venue, or any other event - it is definitely a hidden gem in Niagara. We also hosted our rehearsal dinner the night before our wedding at the winery and Erin and her catering partners worked with me to create the most delicious menu paired with Lundy Manor's wines & all within my budget. The customer service and overall experience from all of the staff at the winery is second to none. Erin is the best event coordinator I have ever dealt with - any questions I had she knew the answer, any concerns she eased my mind & she was always so prompt & friendly. I didn't find this venue until May, and if I had found it before my other venue believe me I would have had my reception there as well, even though that would have meant cutting guests to do so, that's how amazing this place is. The house is gorgeous, the grounds are picturesque, the staff is lovely & the feeling the second you walk in is a fairy tale. My husband & I had our wedding ceremony at Lundy Manor back in October and it was an absolute dream.
